Strategies

There are different strategies of playing KoC. You can be a banker, a slayer, a sabber, a ranker, rouge, or a protector.

A Banker is someone who gets mostly Defense weapons and strength. This is so that they can save their gold, or bank. Banking is good if you want to save up a lot of gold for upgrades or to buy morale.

A Slayer is someone who has most of their strength in their Strike Action. This is so they can attack people more and get more gold. Also, if you have a lot of Strike Action, you can farm (attack more than once every 24 hours) other players.

A Sabber has most of their strength in their Spy. This is so they can spy on people to gather information about their armory or sabotage people's armories to weaken the player. This is good if you are in an alliance and someone wants to know the stats of an enemy. This is also good if someone low hits you, you can sab them if they refuse to pay you for your losses.

A Ranker is someone who has good overall stats. They don't have one stat that stands out, but all of their stats are strong. This is so they can become the best rank they can. The good thing about this is so that no stat is too weak, but no stat is really strong either.

A Rouge is someone who is strong in both Strike Action and Spy. This is so they can farm players, mass players, and sab players. This is good if you really want to do a lot of damage to your enemy's armories.

A Protector is someone who doesn't like to lose their armory or their gold. They have strong Defense and Sentry. This strategy is similar to Banker.

Personally, I would not recommend Banker or Protector. Right now, in age 12, I started as Ranker, and went to Slayer. Choose the strategy that best suits you.

Turns

There are two types of turns in KoC. They are attack turns and income turns.

Attack turns are used for attacking people. Every time you attack someone, it costs 1 attack turn. Every 3 hours, you gain 1 attack turn; they are hard to get, so use them wisely.

Income turns are for gaining income. If you go to your Command Center, you will see how much income you get per turn. It is called TBG (Turn Based Gold). Your income amount depends on the amount of soldiers you have or your TFF (Total Fighting Force). Your TFF is made up of Attack Specialists and Defense Specialists only. Mercenaries, Spies, and Sentries do not contribute to your TBG.

It is important to get as many soldiers as you can at the beginning of an age. Those soldiers are what gives you money throughout the rest of the age.

Clickers/Recruiters

The KoC built-in recruiter is very sloooooooow. That's why people made their own recruiters to make the work faster. This is NOT cheating or against the rules. It is NOT a computer that clicks for you. It simply shows you all the captchas at once so you can just type the letters you see and not worry about the page reloading every time. Here are some of the best clicker/recruiters:

(The only recruiter that is Mac compatible)

Morale

One of the most important things in KoC is morale. The usual way to get morale is by "clicking". Clicking is what you do when you go to the Recruit page in KoC. Every time you click, you get 1 morale. Also, the person who you clicked on gets 1 of their morale transformed into 1 soldier. Every time someone clicks for you, 1 of your morale changes into a soldier. The minimum amount of morale you can have is -100. Therefore, it is better to have more morale.

Another way to get morale is by buying some from another player. Morale can be pretty expensive for a new player though. The usual minimum that someone will sell to you is around 1000 morale. Morale is usually priced per thousand. The usual price range for morale is from 100mil per thousand to 250mil per thousand. Prices may vary depending on the player though.

The way you pay for morale (since there is no gold transfer system for some reason) is by lowering your defense and letting the seller hit you for the gold. This is called selling off. It is a pretty risky process though. You never know if someone will see your jump in gold and try to intercept the sell.

Pages

The Command Center displays all of your information including your current rank, your highest rank, recent attacks on you, your commander's notices, your officers, and your stats.

The Attack page shows all of the players. The page it is centered on is the page you are on. It displays each player in order according to rank. It also displays each player's current gold (if you have enough spy) and their TFF (Total Fighting Force). From this page, you can go to any player's stat page.

The Attack Log shows all the people who attacked you and all the people you attacked. From there, you can see all of the battle reports.

The Armory is where you buy your weapons. There are Attack Weapons, Defense Weapons, Spy Tools, and Sentry Tools. You can also upgrade your Fortification and Seige Technology here.

The Alliance page is where you see all of the alliances you are in. The current maximum for the amount of alliances you can be in is 12. From this page, you can view the alliance's homepages.

The Training page is where you can train your soldiers to become more effective in certain fields. You can train your soldiers to be Attack Specialists, Defense Specialists, Spies, or Sentries. You can also upgrade your Covert Level and Unit Production here.

The Intelligence page shows all of the people who tried to recon and sab you and all the people you have reconned and sabbed. From there, you can view the intelligence files you have on people.

The Recruit page is where you go to get morale. Morale eventually gets turned into more soldiers for you. Now, recruiting is very hard to do and slow. There are things called recruiters that make recruiting A LOT faster.

The Mercenary page is where you buy mercenaries. Mercenaries do not give you any TBG (Turn Based Gold), but they do add to your TFF and they die in place of your regular infantry. (Personally, I do not like mercs very much, but that is just an opinion.)

Classes

Orcs are the best class if you like to attack people. Their advantage percent changes every age, but it is currently a 50% Attack Bonus and a 20% Defense Bonus.

Elves are the best class if you like to sabotage and recon people. Their advantage percent changes every age too, but it is currently a 50% Spy Bonus and 40% Fewer Casualties.

Undead is a good class overall. Their current advantages are 50% Fewer Casualties, 30% Sentry Bonus, and 20% Attack Bonus.

Dwarves are the best class if you like to save and get more money. They get a 60% Defense Bonus and a 15% Income Bonus.

Humans are good if you like spies and money. They get a 15% Income Bonus and a 15% Spy Bonus.

Now take a look at all the classes you can choose from and choose what works best for you! But choose wisely because you can only choose your class once!

Overall Basics

I'm going to start out by explaining what Kings of Chaos is. Kings of Chaos is a text-based MMORPG. There are different classes that you choose to be when you register for it. They are Orcs, Elves, Undead, Dwarves, and Humans. Each class has certain advantages and disadvantages. I will explain in another post what each of the classes do.

Kings of Chaos is broken up into ages. Every 6 months or so, a new age begins and everybody's account is reset. This is so people who start later in the game get a fair chance to become the best. KoC is currently at the end of age 12.

There are a few elements of KoC that every player MUST know about. The first one is the Command Center. The next is the Battlefield or Attack page. Then comes the Attack Log. And the Armory is next. Followed by the Alliances page and after that is the Training page. Next comes the Intelligence page and the Recruiting page. And last is the Mercenary page. I will explain what each page is for in a later post.
